Useful information to make your CD or DVD production project a success.

This is probably the most useful part of our site if you are producing CDs or DVDs for the first time.  Below are links to pages covering the critical elements you will need to get right to ensure your finished CDs or DVDs are as you envisage.

On-Line Designer.

If you are not a designer, this will be the most useful part of the site. Create your CD and DVD designs 'On-Line' without needing special skills or software. Upload your photo's and logo's, add text, choose from our selection of fonts, add boxes, lines and circles. When complete, double check your work with the 'Preview' function and make amends. Once you are happy, save your design and confirm your order.

Access the 'On-Line Designer' by navigating to the product you would like order, and click the 'Custom Design' button.

To get full advantage of all the 'On Line Designer' funcationality, we recommend you Register or Login before you start.

Artwork Guidlines.

You can find the artwork specifications for all our products by navigating to the product you are interested in, and clicking on the 'Upload your own artwork' button. This will take you to the upload page for that product, where you will find the relevant Artwork specifications.  Don't forget that you can use our 'On Line Design tool to create your artwork directly on our site, and save it until you are ready to order.  To take full advantage, please Register or Login before starting your design.

CD or DVD Mastering guide.

Before sending your Master CD or DVD for duplication, it's well worth double checking the process you used to to create it against our Mastering Guide. This could save you from the common pitfalls which can cost your project time, and ensure that you produce a master disk that will work over as many players as possible.

MCPS PRS licence to manufacture for Bands and Musicians.

We will shortly post a full over-view of the MCPS PRS licencing process for Bands and Musicians. Even if you are producing music & lyrics which are entirely your own, we recommend that Bands & Musicains apply for an  "AP2 notification of no claim" from MCPS which should be FREE and should take about a week.

For wedding compilation CDs or other copyrighted content (Covers) you will probably need a 'Limited manufacture licence' which starts from £5.00.

Bar Codes for CDs and DVDs.

We supply individual EAN-13 Bar Codes for your Retail CDs & DVDs. You can buy these in batches or singularly as required and are compatible with virtually all UK and European POS (Point of Sale) bar code systems. Each Bar Code is unique to your product and it's reference number is used by the retailer to set price information and manage stock levels.  Barcodes are usually printed on the rear of your packaging.  When you purchase a Bar Code from us we will email the reference number and a PDF containing the Bar-Code image. The Bar Code seen embedded around the hub ring of a Replicated CD or DVD is different to the 'product' Bar Code printed on your CD DVD packaging to enable point of sale scanning. The 'Hub Ring' Bar Code is used during the manufacture of the disc to track it's progress through production, and ensures that the correct label print design is used. If you would like this type of bar code you will need 'Replicated' CDs or DVDs.  Please email for a quote.
